Corner Meadow, Caldy

Our client recently purchased a 3 bedroom doormer bungalow on an outstanding plot on the edge of Caldy Conservation Area, Wirral. The property was relatively modest in area but the plot offered great potential with a large landscaped garden and mature trees.

The challenge was to extensively convert, remodel and extend the existing bungalow to form a large five bedroom, three en suite house with a contemporary appearance. Working closely in collaboration with our client our solution was to demolish a large double garage and construct a new two storey extension linked to the existing first floor via a gallery overloking a double height kitchen and family living space to the rear. The gallary also offers wonderful views to a bank of mature trees through a large expanse of roof windows.

The planning authority insisted on particularly carefull consideration to the design due to the proximity to the conservation area which we were able to achieve through skilful increase in volume from the existing to the new two storey element.

Other consequential improvements were incorporated to improve the condition of the building fabric and reduce energy consumption. We are delighted to provide our client with the house they aspired within both time and budget.
