Phase 2 for AiMeS Grid Services CIC at Liverpool Innovation Park, Edge Lane, Liverpool comprised the refurbishment of redundant office space on the site of an old telecoms company. The challenge was to refurbish old offices to accommodate five director's offices, a conference room, meeting room, staff restaurant, reception and a tier 4 standard data centre with technical support space.

The result is a high tech environment of glass and steel incorporating the client's corporate image whilst also meeting the onerous standards required for the data centre. A circular meeting room adjacent to the main entrance forms a strong focal point, whilst the "black box" data centre is skilllfully concealed behind  feature walls.

The data centre required a high level of coordination and project management between the design team and specialist subcontractors. The project was finished to a high standard within 20 weeks and on budget.

The client commented:

"Steve was our project architect for the refurbishment of about 5,000 square feet of old and dilapidated office space. Our brief was for new business incubation spaces, meeting and conferencing facilities. I also had stipulated that the look and feel should reflect our corporate image for a new generation digital business. I am delighted with the end result which exceeded my expectation. Steve made the whole process very easy and managed the project through to completion on time and on budget"
